Welcome to Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra (SGGU)

Shri Govind Guru University was established by the Government of Gujarat vide Gujarat Act No. 24/2015. The Head Quarter of the University is Godhra Panchmahals. The Jurisdiction of the University spread over Five District of Gujarat State i.e. Panchmahals, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur and Vadodara (Rural). All the colleges/institutions situated in the above districts are affiliated with this University. At present 172 colleges are affiliated with Shri Govind Guru University.

It is with great pleasure and pride I have taken charge as the Vice Chancellor of Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra, Gujarat. I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Government of Gujarat, especially Shri Vijay Rupani, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat and Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Hon. Education Minister, Gujarat among others for instilling faith me and giving me the responsibility as the Vice Chancellor of the University. Since this is the defining moment in the history of this University, I will consider it as my responsibility to see that the University moves ahead in the right direction from the very beginning.

The reach, quality and relevance of education in an economy of India’s size and importance is indisputable. Its significance in a country like India that has a young demography with aspirations to be a part of the global knowledge pool makes it exceptionally relevant for the region of Godhara. My first priority would be to create academic environment as well research-oriented environment on the university campus by developing required infrastructure, initiating need based PG programmes, recruiting qualified and dedicated academicians and administrators as soon as possible. Having achieved this goal, I will relentlessly work for quality and excellence on aspect of higher education.
